Music Update!

Just got word from DJ Tim - he's planning on playing only 70's and 80's music for the upcoming Monday, Jan. 3 trivia. However, the actual trivia will not be themed - just a normal trivia with a kick ass music selection. Here is Tim, looking eager for Monday night's festivities.

Joe is taking a leave of absence for Cause Monday Trivia hosting duties - unfortunately he is under the weather. However, Scott Johnson will be filling in (on short notice - thanks Scott!), and Noah will be there as per usual. Stay tuned for hints and whatnot.

(UPDATED!) Dec 6 Cause Trivia Update

UPDATE ON 12/5: Its a sci-fi trivia! More details when you show up - sci-fi related sound/image rounds, etc. Should be a blast!

Once again, the fantastic Mr. Scott Johnson will be filling in on hosting duties in place of Joe for just one more week at Cause on December 6. Expect Joe to make his return on December 13 for our Monday night trivia.

But until then, make sure to show some love to Scott and Noah as they do the trivia while making with the yuk-yuks and the whoopie.

Also, hopefully in the next week or two expect some consistency with the pictures of the Winning Monday Night Triv team with the J&N Title belt. We've fallen off on that lately. I blame the economy, really.

An Update...

While we appreciate the fantastic support we have received both from the company as well as the great crowds that turned out for us, it is with regret that we inform you that effective immediately, Joe & Noah Trivia and Famous Daves have decided to part ways, bringing an end to our Joe & Noah Famous Dave's Wednesday Night Trivia.

We are thrilled to have not only had the opportunity to perform for you there, but also that time and time again, people came out and made it a success. While we haven't ruled out another trivia night down the road, we want to focus all our energy into operating our other two trivia nights - Mondays at Cause Spirits and Soundbar (Minneapolis), and Tuesdays at the Turf Club (St. Paul) - with the same (gusto... panache... joie de vivre... sexual tension... insert your own phrase here) you've come to expect.

We love performing for you guys and gals. We put alot of effort into creating a fun, unique event every week - and hopefully that shows every time we're on stage. If you have any questions, don't hesitate to contact us. Check back soon for updates - otherwise, we'll keep working our asses off to entertain you Mondays and Tuesdays, probably with more cussing and obscure references than necessary.

Starting Tuesday, Nov 2 - J&N Trivia @ TURF CLUB in ST. PAUL!

Well now, we've got some news for ye!

As you're aware, we do our trivia nights Mondays @ Cause Soundbar, and Wednesdays @ Famous Daves - Calhoun. We feel incredibly fortunate that both are a part of your lives - we have incredible turnouts as always, and people seem to always have a great time (at least, that's our opinion - if not, you guys and gals are great actors).

So why not share the love on the other side of the river? Hence, our new operation at hand: starting Tuesday, November 2, Joe & Noah Tuesday Night Trivia takes over the Turf Club in St. Paul!

This is a great opportunity for people East of Minneapolis to get in on the action. All three trivias are different - diff. questions, diff. surroundings - but we like to think that we bring the same quality and commitment to each and every one.

Those "Ernest Films a Kitty Porn" kids like to Dominate, but needed to summon their extra endurance to win trivia this past monday, striking gold with their tie breaker question that just narrowly edged out "We'd Be More Apathetic if we Weren't So Lethargic" for the W. Congrats boy-os, enjoy the J&N Trivia belt.

Super duper shout out to DJ Tim for the awesome music selection, and shout out to everyone who requested the "Return of Glee Covers" for the sound round - you wanted it, and we listened, however begrudingly. (I kid, I'm crazy for that Finn Hudson too.)

Starting Wed, Sept 1 - JOE & NOAH TRIVIA @ FAMOUS DAVES!!

OK, its official now. We can talk about this.

Starting on Wednesday, September 1st, Joe & Noah Trivia is getting just a little bit bigger. We will be taking the stage and hosting an ADDITIONAL night of questions, images, sounds, and vague attempts at humor.

Yes, this will be EVERY Wednesday, and always starting at 8PM, much like our Cause set up now. Same DJs too - Knol, Tim, and Martine are all expanding with us. Free as always, only difference is FDs will be all ages (I would assume, at least).

The set up of the trivia will be very similar to Cause, but there may be a few tweaks here and there. Its really up to the audience.

I should point out - and I cannot stress this enough - this will NOT INTERFERE WITH OUR MONDAY NIGHT TRIVIA AT CAUSE SOUNDBAR. We love our Cause, and try as they might, they just cannot get rid of us. Mondays are for Trivia at Cause. 8PM Every Monday - lets see you guys and gals keep filling the place up!

Super thanks to everyone who showed up last night! "A Blaffair to Rememblack" (yes, a great "30 Rock" reference) kicked some ass, and managed to make me (Joe) completely blush due to the inappropriateness (yes, its a word) of their "Create a Caption" contest winning quote. Ask about it sometime. It will go down in Joe & Noah Trivia lore. It was that good.

I cannot stress this enough - I think EVERYONE that showed up last night submitted some of the most jaw-droppingly insensitive and controversial quotations I have ever had the privilege of reading on stage. You should all be ashamed. Or applauded. Or both.

Super apologies for the blurry photo - no one said technology was convenient - but "TODD & THE ASSOCIATION" won the night, and won the 80's! Congrats to all involved.

5/31 Memorial Day - WINNERS - The Analrapists!

Congratulations to team "The Analrapists" (I swear, they don't anally rape people... I think. Watch Arrested Development if you don't get it) for winning our Memorial Day trivia!!! They came in and bitch-slapped around the competition. Literally. There were assault charges filed.

I jest.

BUT, they did win our coveted J&N Championship belt (pictured) as well as a photo-op with trivia co-host Noah (pictured right - looking rather dapper if I do say so myself).

Next week brings about an all new title defense! It just so happens that next Monday (June 7) is our 1980's themed trivia! Questions, images, sound round - all of it dedicated to the black hole that was the 80s. Feel free to come dressed up for the occasion, and remember to get there early for seating, as I'm sure it will be busy.

After a busy week involving Jury duty for Joe and lord-knows-what for Noah, we're finally ready to blast trivia into your faces.

REMEMBER: No teams larger than 6 people (7 if you ask very very nicely is OK, we suppose), AND no use of cell phones/computers/iphones etc.

UPDATE 5/9 @ 11:AM - Also a note, there is a very real possibility that starting next week, 5/17, we will be video taping a few of our trivias in a row. We are doing this because J&N Trivia intends to put together a couple of these web videos the kids are talking about, in the form of advertisements and short-form infomercials.

What does this mean for you? Hopefully, not much - the cameras presumably will be directed only at the stage, so Joe & Noah will be the focus of the attention. However, we may also get "testimonials" from trivia goers about why they come to trivia, how much fun it is, who probably has the bigger package - Joe or Noah... things like that.

I will update as necessary on this topic, but expect video cameras to be making their appearance in the next week or two!!

Rocking this bitch, new logo included

There comes a time when there needs to be a change that we all can believe in. Now, I know Obama was talking about the general discourse in this country, but (I believe) he was ALSO talking about Joe & Noah Monday Night Trivia needing a new logo.

Well, he probably wasn't referencing our humble little trivia, now that I think about it. But what the hell, why not make a new one anyways?

So tip of the hat (not a wag of the finger, ala Stephen Colbert) to Mr. Scotty Jay for the drawing of a gun-holding Noah P, and a rather displeased version of me with my arms crossed, which in some cultures is more manly than holding a gun.

The new logo will be appearing on the brand new answer sheets at this upcoming (5/3) trivia, so be sure to look out for that. There may be tweaks and additions in the near future, but hey, I was hammered when I made this new logo, and I figure if it's good enough for 8-beer Joe, then it's good enough for you guys and gals.

Trivia @ sauce. We really recommend showing up early for a table in the show room. We're not going to be so accommodating for people who come late, and want to play in the other room. It's too much of a hassle for us, and we don't really get to enjoy our time with the people who show up early & get a spot in the show room.
